1910 - Concerned individuals collect funds to board elderly Jewish men and women in private homes.
1914 - Hebrew Home acquires brick row house at 415 M Street, NW, Washington DC.
1916 - Hebrew Home for Aged files certificate of incorporation; Bernard Danzansky is first president.
1923 - June 10: Laying of cornerstone for new Hebrew Home at 1125 Spring Road, NW
1925 - November 29: Dedication of new 35-bed home
1926 - June 10: Rabbi Maurice Maser becomes Director
1936 - The Ladies Auxiliary, originally organized with 25 members, counts 900 members
1953 - December 6: Major addition expands capacity to 165. Medical panel provides care at no charge to residents.
1969 - 5,000 attend Rockville campus dedication. Wasserman Residence features innovative shopping arcade.
1978 - Revitz House opens
1981 - Smith-Kogod Residence opens
1984 - Research Institute established
1989 - Ring House opens
1991 - Hirsh Health Center opens
2005 - Landow House opens
2006 - System of care becomes Charles E. Smith Life Communities
