The Power of Mindfulness and Meditation to Reduce Stress, Manage Pain and Improve Mood
Speaker: Shannon Beltz Mayhew, Ed.M., RYT
Mindfulness and meditation can help reduce stress and increase mental focus. In this presentation Mayhew will discuss movement and meditation techniques that anyone can use to orchestrate mood, relieve pain and stress, and improve well-being. After the discussion, Mayhew will lead a short mindfulness meditation session.
About Shannon Beltz Mayhew, Ed.M., RYT
As a yoga teacher and a cognitive scientist, Mayhew combines wisdom from yoga and meditation practices with neuroscience research, to develop methods that help people improve their mental and physical health. Mayhew leads workshops and retreats on yoga, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence, and is the founder of Wisdom Wood, a yoga and meditation retreat community. She holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University and several yoga teacher training certifications.
