CESLC Insider Series: Innovative Approaches to Cognitive Impairment and Memory Care

Join us as Anne Benefield, Executive Director, Landow House, the assisted living residence on the campus of Charles E. Smith Life Communities. Benefield leads a discussion on the innovative approaches to cognitive impairment and memory care that are used at Charles E. Smith Life Communities.

Benefield will focus on The BCAT® Approach, a unique concept for assessing and working with people who have memory and other cognitive impairments. The BCAT® Approach is designed for any clinical and residential setting in which cognitive functioning and cognitive impairment is a central issue. All programs are person-centered and used by healthcare professionals, facilities, patients, caregivers, and other stakeholders. All programs are validated by science.

Anne Benefield is the Executive Director, Landow House at Charles E. Smith Life Communities. She has operated senior living communities for the last 14 years ranging from assisted living, independent living, memory care, for profit and nonprofit. Benefield has a Masters of Science in Gerontology and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Her passion is advocating for the older adult population and their families.

HFAM is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education learning activities and maintains full responsibility for this program. This training qualifies for 1 Category 1 continuing education units.
