CESLC Insider: Successful Aging Strategies for LGBTQ+ Older Adults

National LGBTQ+ Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ people and to raise awareness of current issues facing their community. Did you know that LGBTQ+ older adults are more likely to experience social isolation, financial insecurity and restricted access to aging services?

Clare Madrigal, RN, BSN with REACH, LLC joins CESLC Insider to provide a powerful discussion dedicated to the unique challenges of successful aging faced by adults within the LGBTQ+ community.

Madrigal has been an Emergency nurse for 15 years, and serves as the LGBTQ+ Resource Nurse for two Johns Hopkins Medicine hospitals. In this role, Madrigal provides LGBTQ+ health education for staff, community outreach and advocacy for patients, as well as employees.

HFAM is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education learning activities and maintains full responsibility for this program. This training qualifies for 1 Category 1 continuing education units.
