In this estate planning seminar, Michael Hirsch will discuss the importance of managing your assets and personal affairs, covering key documents likeĀ wills,Ā trusts, andĀ Power of Attorney. He will explain the benefits of preparing in advance, which may include avoiding probate, minimizing taxes, protecting family (especially minor children and blended families), and ensuring your wishes are followed, rather than state law taking over.
Hirsch will help demystify this complex topic, address common myths and help attendees understand core documents for a comprehensive plan.
Hirschās estate planning experience includes the implementation of estate planning techniques to protect personal and business assets, while minimizing wealth transfer taxes. He has assisted in estate and tax planning, and related issues surrounding the gift tax, estate tax, generation-skipping transfer tax, and inheritance tax. He has designed and drafted revocable trusts, wills, advanced healthcare directives, and durable powers of attorney.
Michael Hirsch was born in Los Angeles and earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduating from Catholic University of Americaās Columbus School of Law, Michael worked for a several law firms in Washington, D.C. before shifting his practice to Montgomery County. Michael is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County. When heās not advising families on their estate planning needs, Hirsch enjoys golfing, bicycling and swimming.
