Retirement is a time to pursue longtime passions, discover new hobbies and continue learning alongside people who share similar interests. That’s why today’s older adults are looking for more than beautiful residences and convenient amenities in a senior living community. They want a community where they can stay active, connected and engaged every day.

At Ring House, independent living is designed around that philosophy. Residents enjoy a wide variety of educational programs, fitness classes, cultural experiences and resident-led clubs that make it easy to pursue lifelong interests or discover new ones. Technology plays an important role, too, helping residents stay informed, participate in community life and remain connected with family and friends.

Together, thoughtful programming and easy-to-use technology create opportunities for residents to continue living with purpose, curiosity and independence.

Activities With Purpose

Acting Class

At Ring House, activities are more than items on a calendar. They are intentionally designed to help residents stay physically active, intellectually engaged and socially connected while supporting the independence that makes community living so rewarding.

Residents can choose from a variety of experiences throughout the year, including:

  • Educational lectures and discussion groups.
  • Fitness and wellness classes.
  • Cultural programs and theater outings.
  • Creative arts and music experiences.
  • Volunteer opportunities.
  • Resident-led clubs and special interest groups.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all schedule, residents decide how they want to spend their time. Some enjoy participating in several activities each week, while others prefer a handful of favorite programs. That flexibility allows everyone to create a lifestyle that reflects their own interests and priorities.

Programming also evolves alongside the community. Residents are encouraged to suggest new ideas, introduce clubs and share their talents, creating opportunities that feel personal and meaningful. Whether leading a discussion group, teaching a class or helping organize a new activity, residents play an active role in shaping community life.

This resident-driven approach creates an environment where learning continues, friendships develop naturally and every resident has the opportunity to contribute.

Technology That Makes Participation Easier

Staying engaged begins with knowing what’s happening around the community, and Ring House makes that simple through technology designed with residents in mind.

Using the Cubigo resident engagement platform, residents can:

  • Browse activity calendars.
  • Register for upcoming events.
  • View dining menus.
  • Receive community announcements and updates.

Cubigo is available on smartphones, tablets, computers and digital screens throughout the community, giving residents multiple ways to stay informed and make plans that fit their schedules.

Ring House also recognizes that technology is most valuable when people feel confident using it. That’s why residents have opportunities to participate in technology workshops that provide practical guidance on using smartphones, tablets, video calling and other everyday digital tools.

These workshops help residents stay connected with family and friends, access information more easily and feel comfortable using technology both inside and outside the community.

By combining resident-focused technology with engaging programming, Ring House makes it simple for residents to discover new opportunities, stay connected and participate in the experiences that matter most.

Meet the Leader Behind the Programming

Vica Carpio, Lifestyle & Leisure Manager

Behind every lecture, fitness class, cultural event and resident club is a simple goal: helping residents stay engaged, connected and inspired.

For Vica Carpio, Lifestyle & Leisure Manager, that means creating opportunities that support independence while reflecting the interests and experiences of the people who call Ring House home.

We asked Vica what makes programming at Ring House unique and why it plays such an important role in residents’ daily lives.

What makes programming at Ring House different?

Vica Carpio: “As the Lifestyle & Leisure Manager at Ring House, my goal is to create opportunities that inspire residents to stay active, connected and engaged while continuing to live independently. Programming is more than entertainment. It’s about building community, encouraging wellness and helping every resident find purpose and joy each day.”

That philosophy is reflected in every aspect of community life. Rather than creating activities for residents, Ring House creates experiences with residents.

“Our residents help shape the programming,” Vica explains. “We listen to their ideas, interests and passions to create experiences that are meaningful and engaging. Our calendar includes fitness and wellness classes, educational lectures, cultural programs, theater outings, live entertainment, volunteer opportunities, discussion groups, creative arts and intergenerational experiences.”

Residents are also encouraged to contribute their own knowledge and talents.

“What makes Ring House unique is the sense of community. Residents are encouraged to share their talents, lead clubs, teach classes and introduce new ideas. Their lifelong experiences become valuable resources that enrich the lives of everyone around them.”

That collaborative approach helps keep programming fresh while creating a community where residents are both participants and leaders.

Lifelong Learning Never Stops

Fitness Class

One of the defining characteristics of Ring House is its commitment to lifelong learning.

Whether attending a lecture, participating in a discussion group or exploring a new technology, residents have endless opportunities to continue learning every day while sharing their own experiences with others.

Vica: “Learning is woven into everyday life at Ring House. We partner with local organizations, educators, performers and community experts to offer lectures, workshops, cultural presentations and educational discussions throughout the year.”

Learning also happens within the community itself.

“Residents are lifelong learners with incredible knowledge and experience, and many enjoy sharing their expertise by leading clubs, facilitating discussions or teaching fellow residents.”

This exchange of ideas creates an environment where curiosity continues long after retirement. Residents aren’t simply attending programs. They’re contributing to conversations, introducing new perspectives and helping shape the intellectual life of the community.

For Vica, some of the most meaningful moments aren’t found on the activity calendar.

“One of my favorite moments is watching residents encourage one another to try something new. I’ve seen residents who were initially hesitant to attend a program become regular participants after receiving an invitation from a neighbor. Over time, those shared experiences have turned into lasting friendships.”

It’s a reminder that while activities bring people together, it’s the relationships that grow from those experiences that truly define life at Ring House.

“At Ring House, we don’t just plan activities. We create opportunities for residents to continue growing, contributing and enjoying every stage of life.”
