The Heart’s Desire: Creating Social Bonds for Healthy Aging

February is Heart Health Month, the perfect time to focus on the engine that keeps us moving. Join Dr. Elisa Gil-Pires, Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at Charles E. Smith Life Communities, and Dr. Carolyn Eichberg, licensed clinical psychologist for a multidisciplinary exploration of how social connection serves as the foundation for cardiovascular health and vitality.

Social Workers earn 1 CE credit for attending this program.

During this session we will explore:

  • The Heart and Mind Connection. How cognitive resilience and stress management directly influence heart health.
  • Biological Blueprints: Identifying the distinct ways heart issues present in male vs. female bodies and the importance of gender-specific preventative care.
  • The Social Heart: A discussion on how social connection mitigates the physiological risks of loneliness.
  • Heart-Healthy Lifestyle: Practical and preventative strategies designed specifically for the aging adult.

CE Credit for Social Workers:

Inspired Memory Care, provider #1756, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards Approved Continuing Education ACE program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Inspired Memory Care maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 11/19/24 to 11/19/27.
