This program will provide an overview of guardianship and less restrictive alternatives to guardianship. Presenters will also provide a framework to help explore those alternatives when working with someone who may be experiencing decision-making limitations.
This program is offered in-person and virtually.
In-person attendees: Lunch will be provided and complimentary self-parking is available.

Speakers:
Randi Ames, managing attorney with Disability Rights Maryland (DRM). Her team focuses on addressing barriers to community services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, educating clients on available Medicaid benefits, and investigating reports of abuse or neglect in state facilities and provider owned and operated community settings.
Nisa C. Subasinghe, Domestic & Guardianship Program Manager at the Maryland Judiciary’s Administrative Office of the Courts. Her work focuses on issues affecting children and families who come through the court system. She staffs the Maryland Judicial Council’s Domestic Law Committee, and also provides training and technical assistance to judges, magistrates, court staff, attorneys, and others who handle domestic, guardianship, and related matters.
CE Credit for social workers
Inspired Memory Care, provider #1756, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
