NORTH BETHESDA, Md. (April 22, 2026) – Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, the largest provider of post-acute care in the mid-Atlantic region and part of Charles E. Smith Life Communities (CESLC), one of the nation’s largest and most respected nonprofit elder care organizations, recently introduced a dedicated respiratory care program to meet the growing clinical needs of older adults requiring pulmonary rehabilitation and tracheostomies.
The program provides specialized, person-centered care for individuals managing complex respiratory conditions, including those with tracheostomies and those in need of structured pulmonary rehabilitation. Building on Hebrew Home’s established reputation as a nationally recognized rehabilitation provider, the respiratory care program extends the organization’s clinical reach to serve a population with highly specialized needs.
“Complex respiratory needs require a team that thinks and works as one – at Hebrew Home, we’ve built exactly that,” said Alejandro Small, executive director of Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. “Our respiratory care program integrates respiratory therapy, rehabilitation and clinical expertise under one roof to help people breathe easier, recover stronger and move towards an improved quality of life.”
The program’s core services include pulmonary rehabilitation and breathing strategy development, tracheostomy tube care management, and onsite tracheostomy tube changes and decannulation, access to a sleep apnea program including at-home testing, and more. Patients benefit from regular and on-demand appointments with a certified respiratory therapist, delivered within Hebrew Home’s private, comfortable care environment.
Patients and care coordinators interested in the respiratory care program at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington can call 301-770-8496 for more information.
